In 1675, Clement Haly was legatee and executor in the will of John Roberts of St. Mary's County, Maryland, he would have had to be at least 21 for this. He was a prosperous planter and landowner of St. Mary s County. His will was probated 23 February 1695. It left his daughter Mary a 100 acre plantation called Chesup and his daughter Elizabeth Halye's lot of 108 acres. In addition, Watson's Choice (100 acres) and another 50 acres were to be divided between the two girls when they came of age at 16. The daughters were left in the care of John Long, who was executor of the estate. (Ref: Clary of Maryland, Clary, pg 429-30;)
