She was buried in Banks of Silver Creek, Clark County, Indiana, USA. Some researcher have Dolly's name as Dorothea/Dorretha but our family never saw any documentation with that spelling. Bible records indicate Dorothy was her name and the family called her Dolly. Our family always heard she died on the banks of the Silver Creek en route to Jeffersonville, Indiana. Louisville, Kentucky and Jeffersonville, Indiana are divided by the Ohio River. The Silver Creek starts on the western boundary of Jeffersonville at the Floyd County boundaries. Kentucky/Indiana borders over the years have changed and there is lots of controversy over the place of death and burial. I received a very welcomed map (from fellow researcher E H Jackson) of the Silver Creek area which shows the creek was located in Clark County, Indiana in the 1800's. Silver Creek divides Floyd County and Clark County. The creek begins in Carr Township, Floyd County, Indiana as part of Muddy Fork. Muddy Fork gets bigger and bigger and becomes Silver Creek which flows through Clark County into the Ohio River. An important part of Southern Indiana history played by the Silver Creek is: This is where the Lewis & Clark expedition began. It was a major trail from the Falls of Ohio (later known as Louisville, Kentucky) to the territorial Government site at Vincennes (known as, the Buffalo Trace. The Buffalo Trace crossed Silver Creek, which is where the pioneers forded the creek, (just north of present day New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana, USA. It is said the wagon ruts are so deep, that they can still be seen today in that area. Someone entered a Will dated 06-07-1787 batch 7632224 sheet 58 with the LDS library in Salt Lake City, Utah as belonging to our Dolly. We dispute and question why Dolly would have a Will when she was only 14 years old? Some show she was buried at Jeffersonville Cemetery, Harrison County, Indiana. Don't believe this is related to our Dolly, either. These same people show husband as a Lashbrooks. He was our William Lashbrook and did not spell his name with the 's' on the end, nor did either Dolly or William die in Harrison County, Indiana. William was buried on the family farm (near French Lick, Indiana, USA). His tombstone was a sandstone marker with simply the date of 1820 inscribed, (see notes in his section for more details).
