John and Mary married in 1804. How could this child possible belong to this family? In 1820, a girl was added to the family - Lucinda of 1813. All girls accounted for. Joel is the only possible son in 1810. Four sons were added to family by 1820. John - 1815; Anthony - ? and two others? In 1834, John Cotner and his wife Mary Ann Keller, had a dispute with relatives about conveyance of 80 acres of land. Apparently John Keller had applied for a patent to the government for some land. Before he owned the land, he sold his interest to John Cotner. He eventually received the patent, but before he gave the deed to John Cotner, he died. Most of the relatives were agreeable to pass title to the land, except Mary Ann's sister Betsy Barnett and her husband James Barnett. Several of son John B. Keller's children were not of legal age. A petition to the court in 1834 to correct the matter was filed. Laurel Leo Luther states that he was born 1780, NC and died 22 Dec 1847. Another family ancestor stated that he was born in Washington County, although the land ownership records show that his father owned land in Lincoln County, KY shortly after his birth. Neal N.
