Cotton Mather's "Magnalia" says of him: "The Church of Middletown wa s the Golden Candlestick from whence this excellent person illuminated mo re than that whole Colony." ... However , the will of Daniel Collins, older half brother of Phebe, dated 20 Novem ber 1639 mentions "the wife of John Russell and her children" -- in orde r right after his mention of Edward Collins and his children.
