ON THE EVENING OF THURSDAY AUG 11, 1904 THE SPIRIT OF B.W. CLARK QUIETLY PASSED TO THE GREAT BEYOND, MR. CLARK WAS BORN JULY 10, 1833 NEAR BELLEFONTE, HE ENLISTED IN CAPT. FRANK BURLEY'S COMPANY IN THE 4TH ALABAMA CAVALRY IN 1861 AND REMAINED IN SERVICE UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE GREAT STRUGGLE. FOR EIGHTEEN MONTHS HE WAS IN PRISON IN INDIANAPOLIS, WHILE IN THAT COLD NORTHERN PRISON HE CONTRACRTED LUNG TROUBLE FROM WHICH HE NEVER RECOVERED. HE WAS AN HONORABLE, UPRIGHT CITIZEN. THROUGH AN INVALID FOR YEARS HE NEVER LOST INTEREST IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND WAS EVER LOYAL TO HIS SOUTHLAND. ONE BY ONE THE OLD SOLDIERS ARE ANSWERING THE LAS ROLL CALL. A HOST OF FRIENDS SYMPATHIZE WITH MR. CLARK THE FAITHFUL WIFE AND MRS. BARBER THE DEVOTED SISTER IN THEIR GREAT SORROW.
