Bequeathed to grandchildren Thomas and Jacob BRADBURY all his housing and lands in Salisbury, and they shall pay 15 pounds each to their Aunt TRUE and give receipt to their brother William BRADBURY and discharge him from all orders of courts concerning the division of their father's estate, and pay their grandmother an annuity, she to have half of his housing. Gives to daughter Mary STANION 20s., she having had her portion upon marriage; gives to daughter Jane TRUE 10 pounds; to grandchild Elizabeth BUSS; 5 lbs.; 10 pounds to the selectman Salisbury for the poor; wife Mary BRADBURY and daughter Judith MOODIE executors. (5a) Left 5 lbs. for the use of the poor of the town, the first record Salisbury having been the recipient of a public bequest. (6b) Gives to grandchild Thomas BRADBURY farming implements.

(1,2a,b) 1692: She was tried for witchcraft, "ably and courageously defended by Maj. Robert PIKE," convicted, but not executed. (2a,b) "The papers pertaining to the case are of deep interest, and show the high estimation in which she was held." (5) Her "virtues are commemorated incidental to saving her life in the witchcraft murders." (7) In her old age, she was tried for witchcraft and sentenced to death, but was later liberated. There is little doubt but what this was largely the result of malice, as her principle accusers were open enemies of hers.
