about 7 miles southeast of here. She arrived here at 1:20 A.M. from
Carthage, Missouri where she had been on a visit to her 3 children, John
and William Randall and Mrs. Sarah House. It is supposed that she had
intended going to the home of her niece, Mrs. George W. Hays, but being
confused in the directions, she started away from the depot on the
railroad track. Several persons at the depot saw her going down the
tracks, but paid no attention to her. About 3:30, the depot officials ere
notified by the crew of a westbound freight train that a body was in the
railroad reservoir just east of the tank. Help was immediately called and
the unfortunately lady was taken to the depot. When found, she was still
