Richard Corbin bought from Thomas Hobbs Weeks of the County of Southampton in the Kingdom of Great Britain, Esq., 450 acres of land by the name of Weeks Creeke or Plantation in the records of 1736-1739, Middlesex County, VA. According to Notes on the Corbin Family from Genealogies of VA,Richard Corbin had been living on the place for a few years before he acquired the land by title. In the records of 1740 -1754 of Middlesex County on Jan 6, 1746 Richard Corbin of Middlesex conveys to William Mountague of the same county a tract of land containing 118 acres. In 1749 Richard Corbin has moved to King and Queen County and in 1753 Robert Chew of Spotsylvania agrees to procure an act of the General Assembly to enable him to sell to Richard Corbin 1500 acres called Perrott's Neck, which belongs to his wife Mary a daughter of Henry Perrott, containing 1450 acres.
