Sir Gilbert de Umfreville, of Harbottle, Hessle, Kyme, etc., only son and heir [of Thomas & Agnes], b. 18 Oct 1390 at Harbottle Castle, and baptized in the church there. He Inherited the Kyme property, co. Lincoln, on the death, 18 December 1398, of Maud, Countess of Angus and Northumberland. He is said to have accompanied his uncle, Sir Robert de Umfreville, in an incursion into Scotland 1409-1410. Some chroniclers [English and French] style him Earl of Kyme, but no such title is ever given him in any formal document. He was at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415; appointed Captain of Caen, 30 September 1417, and during the siege of Rouen,1418-19, was commissioned with the Earls of Warwick and Salisbury, &c., to treat for the surrender of that city. He was appointed Captain of Pontoise 2 February, of Eu 12 February, and of Neufchatel 21 February 1418/9. Robert de Umfravill, second Earl of Angus and feudal baron of Prudhoe, was summoned to parliament as Earl of Angus from 4 March, 1309, to 30 December, 1324. This nobleman distinguished himself in the lifetime of his father in the Scottish wars and, soon after his accession to the title, he was joined in commission with William, Lord Ros, of Hamlake, and Henry, Lord Beaumont, in the lieutenancy of Scotland. In the 11th Edward II [1318], his lordship was appointed one of the commissioners to treat with Robert de Brus and his partisans for a truce between both realms. The earl m. 1st, Lucy, dau. of Philip, and eventually heiress of her brother, William de Kyme, by whom he had issue, Gilbert, hissuccessor; Elizabeth, m. to Gilbert Burdon, or Baradon, and had an only dau. and heiress, Alianore Burdon, (heiress to her uncle, Earl Gilbert) m. to Henry Talboys, from which marriage the Lords Talboys descended. people put into it,that exchange with me. So look
in the notes of the genealogy for origin, if they put it
there,or the source.

If you are going to correct,update or put new branches on the
lineage your are inquirying about,please do not add from what
I have sent you,(This just duplicates how many more people
I have to find in the duplicates and merge them,edit your
notes to ensure that there is nothing there that you do not
want published.

Also do not submit information on copyrights that invades the
privacy of others especially for a relative that has not given
you permission to publish same.

Remember nothing is carved in stone except time.

The best way for me to describe the relationship, is for
example if you have 6,000 people in your data base
that are connected via interlocking marriages, and
you find that you have a marriage that is interlocked into
one of my people in my data base, then they are related
via interlocking marriages, does not matter how distant.
The difference here is that the interlocking into my data
base would link to over 631,749 people via interlocking
marriages.

My hobby is working on interlocking marriages,to any
family surname that is in my data,and I exchange with
people to find them,and to assist them in finding lineage
that link into their families.
