(I have copies of original bonds James Watson and George Robertson signe d names with an x but Thomas Woolley signed his name and he went along wi th the Robertson spelling. George Robinson married Teresy Watson 4-25-1805 in Nelson co. KY by rev . Joseph Ferguson and James Watson was bondsman . Stephen Robinson married Sally Watson on 9-22-1808 in Nelson co., both we re over 21 per bondsman James Watson and they were married by Rev. Josep h Ferguson. George Robertson appears on the 1799 tax list with 50 acres on the Beechf ork until 1805 when he was on the 1805 tax list of Nelson co. back in Was hington Co. with 100 acres on the Beechfork in 1806 . In 1803 Daniel Roberson appears on the Washington Co. KY. tax list with 5 0 acres on the Beechfork river and George Roberson also had 50 acres on t he Beechfork. (note there were 2 others George Robertson's-a father and a son George Jr ., on diff. watercourse) By 1806 Daniel Robeson is gone from Washington Co. and appears on the 180 6 tax list of adjoining Hardin Co. KY. and his father (I believe this t o be true) George Roberson has 100 acs. on Beechfork in 1806. By 1807 Geo rge is missing from Washington Co. tax list and appears on the 1807 tax l ist of Hardin Co. and Daniel, George and Stephen Robinson are on the 181 0 census of Hardin Co. KY.
Thomas Woolley that married Violetty had a brother Richard Bolton Woolle y b. 1782 MD. who married Nancy Hughes 1805 in Nelson Co. was on the 180 9 tax list of Hardin Co. and by 1830, was on the 1830 census of Crawfor d co. IN. near George Roberson Jr. and have a son. Thomas Jefferson Woo lley marries in 1827 to Mary Robertson in Crawford Co. She may have bee n the youngest daughter of George Sr. or perhaps a daughter of Daniel Rob erson as they had a son Daniel Woolley . George Sr. appears to be the same one that marries in Prince George Co. M D. King George parish records of 1689-1801 show that a George Robertso n married Virlinda Johnston 2 October 1781. The parish register record s 2 of their children- Benjamin Roberson b. Sept. 28, 1795 son of Georg e and Violinder Roberson and Elizabeth Ann Roberson b. July 15. 1793, dau ghter of George and Verlinder Roberson.

I think he even had a bride picked out. Georg e went to Texas when he was a young man. I don't think any of the famil y ever saw him again. We heard that he died of T B at a young age. In the early 1940s my father Clayton paid a visit to a gypsy fortune tell er at Beech Grove Indiana. Without a prompt from dad the fortune teller t old him about George and told Dad he died mysteriously in Texas. Not beli eving in fortune telling, my dad came away from there scared. GEORGE W. ROBERTSON was born in Crawford County, Ind., June 18, 1842 , George W., the subject of this sketch, was raised on a farm, and educate d in the common schools. At the age of 18 he enlisted in Co. E, Thirty-e ighth Indiana Volunteer Infantry, in which he served for three years an d seven months. At the end of three years he veteranized, and remained i n the service until the close of the war, participating in all the battle s in which his regiment engaged, the most important of which were Perryvi lle, Stone River, Hoover's Gap, Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain (the battl e above the clouds), seige of Atlanta, Jonesboro, and was with Sherman i n his "march to the sea";

She died on 3 July 1965 at the age of 80 in Power, Cascade, Montana. He homesteaded in Montana; went out there as a school teacher. Found ou t the boys had failed so many times that they were almost as old as him . Right away one of them challenged him to a fight, said he had whipped e very teacher they had up until Grover. Grover took the challenge. They fo ught a long time and Grover finally won. The boy had broken some of Grove r's ribs. Grover played ball with the other children so as not to let any one know the boy had hurt him. I think he gave up teaching after one year. Then he would work up in Cana da at the lumber mills in the winter to buy seed wheat and farm in the su mmer. He married his wife Frankie an employee of Yellowstone Park. Ther e farming had grown. They raised wheat and mustard seed. The land was s o dry they had to summerfile it. Plow and disc for one season to store moisture in the ground so they coul d plant the next year! I met them one time in the late 1940s. They were d riving a 1936 Ford which had its 3rd engine in it. The car looked nice. T hey had 2 D model John Deere Tractors. Grover drove one; Frankie drove on e. Much later they found Grover floating in his pond. We don't know for s ure but we believe a natural death. Grover told us that his land was a gl acier deposit. He had dug a well and the ground was top soil at 40 ft dee p. He said he could still raise 60 bushel of wheat to the acre. When he f irst started it was 80 bushel. He said some of his neighbors were just th en starting to use fertilize. He had not. He had plowed up 40 acres the y ear before that he had always used as pasture for one cow. She departed this life last Satur day, 26th, of typhoid fever, after a short illness of a few days. At th e time of her death she was 16 years old, and was indeed the pride of a k ind father and a loving mother.
