From a copy of letter from Doris Pace Resner to George Langford:
"Robert Langford was born about 1797 in South Carolina. When he was a young man he moved to the Old Cherokee Nation. It was said that he preferred to live with the Indians than to live with white people. The earliest record that has been found for him is the 1850 Census Record from Monroe County, KY. This record indicates that his wife was Lucinda and that they had nine children living with them at that time. Robert was then 53 and Lucinda was 46. Her birthplace was shown as Tennessee. The first five children were also born in Tennessee: Lewis, age 22; John, 20; Elizabeth, 18; Eliza, 17; Hiram, 15. The last four children were born in Kentucky: Minerva, 13; Alex, 10; Lude 7; and Hary, 2."

This day came the parties by their Attornies, and thereupon came a Jury of good and lawful men Towit: High Gracy, Auselm Bradley, John Isham, John Hutson, James Isham, William Markham, Rhodam Doyle, William Farley, Harmon Little, William Blackbourn, William Matlock, James Yeager, who being elected tried and sworn the truth to speak upon the premises upon their oath do say that the defendant owest unto the plaintiff the sum of twenty five cents the debt in the warrant in this cause mentioned besides cost. Therefore on motion of the plaintiff by his Attorney, it is considered by the court, that the plaintiff recover against the defendant and Madison Fisk his security the sum of twenty five cents the debt aforesaid assessed, together with his cost by him about his suit in this behalf expended &c. From which Judgement the defendant prayed for and obtained an appeal to the next term of the Circuit Court for White County, provided he enter into bond with security before the rise of this Court, otherwise that a Writ of fierifacias issue against the defendant and his security.
